Forums Terms of Use

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ. The Alienware Support/Discussion Forum (“Forum”) is free for the customers of Alienware Corporation, and is offered as a method to talk directly to Alienware technical support staff as well as other customers and find answers to questions you might have concerning your Alienware system and/or its components. Please understand that access to the Forum is a privilege and not a right. Civil and ethical conduct is absolutely required. By signing on to the Forum, you agree to be bound by the Forum Terms of Use, as modified from time to time, and your continued use of the Forum following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes. Violation of the Forum Terms of Use may lead to the temporary or permanent revocation of your privilege to access the Forum. You may or not receive a warning before your privilege is affected due to postings that violate the terms of this Agreement, so please be sure that you understand Forum Policy and use your own common sense before posting material on the Forum.

Forum Conduct

Here are the basic rules of conduct to which you must adhere when posting on the Forum:

  • You may not impersonate any person or entity, including any Alienware employee, or forge any TCP-IP packet header, e-mail header or any part of a message header. This prohibition does not include the use of aliases or anonymous re mailers.
  • You may not harass, abuse, threaten or advocate violence against other users or individuals or groups.
  • You may not post content that infringes on the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties.
  • You may not post content that is harmful to minors.
  • You may not post content that is in violation of federal or state law.
  • You may not use the Forum for commercial or advertising purposes, including “spamming,” chain letters or any other form of unauthorized solicitation. Links that connect to commercial web sites will not be considered unauthorized solicitations unless the link or the web site content appears to be intended as a means of solicitation as determined by Alienware in its sole discretion.
  • You may not intentionally interfere with the operation of the Forum or with a fellow user’s message box, including without limitation mail or “post” bombing, news bombing, other flooding techniques, deliberate attempts to overload a system and broadcast attacks, or attempts to avoid messaging blocking.
  • You may not upload, post or otherwise transmit any content that contains software viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage or limit the functioning of any software or hardware.

While we do not and cannot review every message posted in the Forum, and are not responsible for the content of these messages, we reserve the right to remove or edit messages that we deem abusive, defamatory, obscene, libelous, in violation of copyright or trademark laws, or otherwise unacceptable. We also reserve the right to delete any message from the Forum for any reason without the consent of the author or any other party.

If you think that there is a message on the Forum that is libelous, constitutes impersonation or otherwise violates Form Policy and should therefore be removed, please send an email to forums@alienware.com. Please make sure to include the exact URL of the subject post(s) because the title of the post(s) is often insufficient for us to identify and locate the subject post(s). We take libel and impersonation very seriously, and we always follow upon on deletion request messages as fast as we can.

Non-Confidential Information

You agree that any communication that you post on the Forum is non-confidential. By posting a communication, you grant Alienware Corporation (or warrant that the owners of the submission have expressly granted) the perpetual, irrevocable, world-wide, non-exclusive right to use the communication (and any content therein) in any manner that Alienware Corporation deems appropriate, including licensing others the right to use the communication. Such uses may also include without limitation the reproduction, retransmission, distribution, performance or sale of the communication in any media or formats, whether now known or hereafter developed, and the right to edit, adapt, modify and make derivative works based on the communication. You will not receive any money or other compensation for such uses.

Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The majority of the content posted on the Forum is provided by third parties such as you and, as such, is the sole responsibility of the person posting the content. If you use the Forum, you agree to accept sole responsibility for your own communications and the consequences of posting those communications. You also agree to indemnify Alienware Corporation for any claims, losses, liabilities or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) that are incurred as a result of any such communication.

Although the Forum is administered by Alienware support staff personnel who do their best to answer questions posted on the Support Forum, time pressures may prevent them from answering your question in a timely manner. Thus, the Forum should not be used as a substitute for contacting support staff. If you need to contact Alienware support staff, please call the toll free number provided with your warranty, or email them directly at support@alienware.com.

Alienware Corporation does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, completeness, usefulness, non-infringement of intellectual property rights, or quality of any content on the Forum, regardless of who originates that content. You expressly understand and agree that you bear all risks associated with using or relying on that content. Alienware will not be liable or responsible in any way for any content posted or linked to the Forum, including without limitation any errors or omissions in the content, or of any losses or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of or reliance on any content.
